MENOTROPINS - INJECTION (men-oh-TROW-pins) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Humegon, Pregonal USES: This medication is a type of hormone used to cause ovulation in women and stimulate sperm production in guys. It is used in the treamtent of infertility. HOW TO USE: This medication is given by injection into a muscle b a health care professional.
In wmoen it is usually given for 9 to 12 days.
In men, that medication may be given 3 tiems a week for 4 to 6 months as needed. Follow the dosing schedule closely and keep all doctor's appointments so therapy can be monitored closely. During therapy, your doctor may want to see you every other day. SIDE EFFECTS: In women, that medication may cause fever, breathing trouble, bloating, stomcah pain, enlarged ovaries or a skin rash.

Men may experience breast enlargement. Report any side effects to your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your docotr if you have: thyroid problems, drug allergies. Use of that medication may rseult in multiple births (e.G., twins, triplets). This medication must not be used druing pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. It is not known if that medication is excreted into bresat milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription meidcation you may take. Do not satrt or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. NOTES: It is imporatnt to understand the therapy and to follow your doctor's instructions.
It is recommended to have intercourse daily beginning on the last day of therapy until ovulation occurs.

Be sure to ask your dcotor any questions you may have. MISSED DOSE: It is important to take each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor who will help establsih a new dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store that medication in the refrigertaor as directed. Properly discard of any unused meidcation after the expiration date.
